About

I inherited a love for all things photography from my father. He gave me his old Minolta film camera back in the late 1970s (yes, the last century) and ever since then I have enjoyed taking photographs, processing, using dark rooms (and now “LightRoom”) and sharing my photographs. I learned much through 4-H and entering photos at the County and State fairs.

Over time the tools have changed, but the love remains.

Landscape and nature photography in particular captivates my imagination. The ability to see the world around us, and to work to not only turn it into a photograph but to convey the emotion, the sense of wonder that is observed, is so powerful.

I don’t view photography as “capturing” so much as “co-creating." Taking the time to enjoy the moment, see the beauty, and then find the way to translate that into a single image. But it doesn’t stop there. If any of you have taken a photo and been disappointed in the image, and felt that it didn’t quite show the scene that you saw—you are not alone! The taking of the image is just the beginning of the creative process, and THAT is a journey in itself.

I want to share these images in the hopes that you enjoy them, feel some of the emotions of the moment, and perhaps even are inspired to turn your visions into physical memories.
